Graston

Graston technique is a specialized form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization. It is a way in which clinicians use a variety of tools that help locate and treat soft tissue dysfunction.

When tissues are injured, fibroblasts lay down extra collagen into the fascial layer, creating adhesions. Adhesions lower the function and range of motion in the muscles and joint. Graston helps break down those adhesions to get the tissue moving properly. Other benefits of Graston include decreased treatment time, faster recovery, and reduced need for pain medication

Here are some of the many common conditions that can be treated with graston technique:

Wrist pain (carpal tunnel, De Quervain’s disease)

Neck pain (cervical sprain/strain)

Ankle pain

Hamstring injuries

Hip pain

IT band issues

Tennis elbow

Golfer’s elbow

Knee pain

Heel pain (plantar fasciitis)

Shoulder pain (rotator cuff tendinitis)

Trigger finger

Scar tissue from an injury or surgery (including cesarean scarring)

And many more!
